You will also learn about solid-state video recording camcorders and how they record video and audio material. You will learn about the XDCAM-HD and XAVC formats using the MPEG-HD422, MPEG4 and H265 AVC compression systems.

Who should attend

This course is intended for maintenance engineers and technicians who want to maintain a PMW-400 XDCAM‑HD422 camcorder in good working order. Previous experience in maintaining general broadcast products and broadcast technology is expected. Previous experience in maintaining professional solid-state, optical disc or tape based camcorders is useful.

This section is devoted to the explanation of the circuitry of the PMW-400 camcorder and the underpinning technology.
